Habitat for Humanity of Metro Denver this month will open the largest multifamily affordable-housing project in its history.

Habitat used green-building practices on the 24-unit Bails Townhome Community at 4350 E. Bails Place in Denver. The project features tankless water heaters, programmable thermostats and energy-efficient appliances, which will lower utility costs and cut water consumption.

Enterprise Community Partners and Home Depot’s Partners in Sustainable Building program provided more than $100,000 in funding for the green building.

The project is less than half a mile from the Southeast light-rail corridor, as well as bus stops.
