DENVER—Denver broke 100 degrees for the first time since 2008. A reading of 102 degrees Saturday afternoon broke a record.

The last time Denver hit a triple-digit temperature was Aug. 2, 2008.

The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment and the Regional Air Quality Council were warning people sensitive to ozone to limit outdoor activity. An ozone action alert was issued from El Paso County north to Larimer and Weld counties, including the Denver, Boulder and Colorado Springs.

The 102-degree reading at Denver International Airport broke a record set in 1971.
