A 27-year-old climber from Boulder was rescued after a 20-foot fall Saturday near Mills Glacier on Longs Peak in Rocky Mountain National Park.
William Esposito severely injured both ankles in the fall at about 2:30 p.m. on Stettner’s Ledges and park rangers reached him just before 5 p.m., according to the National Park Service.
Two rangers, assisted by eight climbers, carried Esposito to a helicopter landing zone near Chasm Lake, where he was airlifted to Boulder Community Hospital.
