Speaking optimistically about your team’s chances is common, but David Kahn, president of basketball operations for the NBA’s Minnesota Timberwolves, took it to new heights last week. Kahn, being interviewed on NBA-TV, gushed about the signing of notorious draft bust Darko Milicic to a four-year, $16 million contract. He called Milicic, the No. 2 pick in the 2003 draft after LeBron James and before Carmelo Anthony, “manna from heaven” and said his passing skills were on par with “Vlade.” Incredulous interviewer Chris Webber’s stunned reply: “Vlade . . .
