The Front Range’s most generous mountain bikers will be at it again this weekend, carving singletrack near Buffalo Creek on Saturday and Sunday.

The Colorado Mountain Bike Association’s volunteer crew has spent two years and more than 1,000 hours sculpting singletrack for Buffalo Creek’s soon-to-be-famous Black Diamond Trail. They’re luring help with beer, brats and good times.

Hit the city trails this Sunday

Speaking of bikes and beer, New Belgium Brewery’s Urban Assault Ride descends on Denver on Sunday.

The 13-stop tour pushes bike- riding teams around a city and through a host of “mystery” and “obstacle” checkpoints. Racers have three hours to breeze through as many of the checkpoints as possible.

Those who know Denver’s fastest bike routes will be in prime position for prizes. Even better: organizers are raffling a limited edition New Belgium bike, which is about the coolest thing on wheels.
