What better way to wait out an afternoon thunderstorm than a home-grown cupcake contest? Here’s how:
First, bake a batch of cupcakes. (Do this ahead of time, so the cupcakes have time to cool. Unfrosted cupcakes freeze beautifully, so you can bake weeks before you decorate.)
Next,Scour the cake-decorating section of the supermarket for goodies and et up a cupcake decorating bar, with:
*A few different colors of frosting
*Some decorating candies
*Colored sugars
*Fondant, which can be molded into shapes
*Tags and pens so contestants can name and label their designs
Finally, designate a judge, or panel of judges, and let the games begin!
