The third water main break within one week has four Denver homes without water until Friday morning.
Crews are repairing a water main break on West Mississippi Avenue between Knox Court and Julian Street.
Repairs should be complete by 8:30 a.m.
Denver Water spokeswoman Stacy Chesney, said the pipe was originally installed in 1948.
Chesney said it’s standard to have frequent water main breaks, especially in the summer.
“A lot of factors go into what causes a water main break,” Chesney said. “When water use is higher, it can put more pressure on the pipes, but I don’t know if on a day like today where it was rainy if that was a factor.”
There was another water main break Saturday night on West Florida Avenue and South Federal Boulevard, and another on Monday at Santa Fe Boulevard and 13th Street.
