A felon who has tried to illegally re-enter the country five times was sentenced today to five years in federal prison.
The man, Cuatemoc Arias-Rodriguez, 34, of Sinaloa, Mexico — who also goes by Jesus Leyba-Ramirez, and Jorge Rios Santana — has a record dating to 1995, when he was charged in California with possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute.
The other convictions are for numerous illegal re-entries.
Arias-Rodriguez was picked up by Denver Police in February for making a false report using a false name.
Immigration officials were notified of Arias-Rodriguez, who said his last entry into the country was made in January 2010 at a California border after his last deportation in December 2008.
