A two vehicle accident at East 6th Avenue and Interstate 225 late Wednesday night killed one person and injured another.
Aurora police investigators said that a Ford Escort was traveling east on East 6th Avenue about 11 p.m. approaching the intersection for the southbound I-225 on-ramp.
A second vehicle, a Dodge Ram pickup, was traveling west on East 6th Avenue approaching the same intersection.
The pickup turned left to enter the southbound I-225 on-ramp and collided with the Ford Escort in the eastbound lanes of 6th Avenue.
Police Sgt. William Revelle said the driver of the Ford was injured and the passenger die at a local hospital.
Revelle said the only occupant of the Dodge pickup – the driver – was not injured.
Revelle said it is unknown if drugs or alcohol were factors in the accident.
He said traffic investigators are still reviewing evidence and witness statements to determine who was at fault.
