Brittany Stark’s hat trick Saturday powered the Colorado Rush to a 3-2 victory over Boo IF for the GU15 age group championship in the Gothia Cup soccer tournament in Gothenburg, Sweden.
Stark, the tournament MVP, scored all of her goals during the first half. She kicked in a loose ball in the opening minutes, converted a rebound of Gabbi Miranda’s blast from 25 yards and headed in a rebound of Ashely Mages’ header that hit the crossbar.
Outlaws’ Mundorf stars for Team USA.
Brendan Mundorf, one of three Denver Outlaws playing for the United States, scored two goals to help Team USA defeat Canada 12-10 in the title game of the world lacrosse championships in Manchester, England.
Paul Rabil, the tournament MVP, and Mike Leveille each scored three goals to help power Team USA.

Laura Bennett of Boulder finished fifth at the Dextro Energy Triathlon, part of the ITU World Championship Series, at London’s Hyde Park — the course that will host the Olympic triathlon during the 2012 Games.
