A day after being pounded 17-1 by the Salt Lake Bees, the Colorado Springs Sky Sox gave up 13 runs in the first three innings Sunday and lost 15-7 to the Bees in a Pacific Coast League game in Salt Lake City.
Colorado Springs’ Greg Smith (1-4) allowed 12 runs — all earned — and 10 hits in just 2 2/3 innings Sunday. The left-hander’s ERA rose to 7.18.
First baseman Mike Paulk had three of Colorado Springs’ six hits, including a double and triple, and drove in three runs. Paulk raised his batting average to .274. The four-game series concludes tonight.
