Heather Randle of Highlands Ranch boarded a flight from Germany to Denver earlier this month.
Her flight was diverted to Canada when she went into labor seven weeks early.
“My water broke. I leaned over, hit the button,” she said. “(I said), ‘we need a doctor.’ Three doctors showed up,” Randle said.
Randle says they started asking her how far apart the contractions were. She says when she answered ‘a few minutes,’ they said: “she’s going to have this baby on the plane.”
Because of her unusual place of birth, she has dual citizenship in the U.S. and Canada. And since she was born on a Lufthansa flight, she can also get a passport from Germany.
