First Descents, the nonprofit organization that provides free outdoor adventure therapy to young adults (ages 18-39) living with cancer, has added to its ranks.
Joel Appel is the new executive director and Pete Worley was added to the board. Appel is a successful entrepreneur and co-founded Orange Glo International (inventors of Orange Glo, OxiClean and Kaboom) as well as FullBar (a nutritional diet brand) and Brainetics (a memory enhancement program).
Worley is president of Teva and Simple Brands, owned by Deckers Outdoor Corporation in Goleta, Calif.
First Descents, which started in 2001 in Vail, recently moved its headquarters to Denver.
