The Colorado Eagles on Wednesday signed goaltender Tim Boron, who was the netminder in Game 6 in 2007 when the Eagles clinched the President’s Cup as champions of the Central Hockey League.

Boron has played for four teams in the CHL and ECHL since leaving Loveland after the Cup win. The former St. Cloud State player had a 7-9-2 record for Mississippi and Wichita in the CHL last season. He had a 6-3 record with three shutouts, which tied the league postseason record, in the Eagles’ 2007 playoff run. Colorado opens its season Oct. 15 at home against the Arizona Sundogs.

CGA team finishes in 12th-place tie.

The Colorado Golf Association team wrapped up the Pacific Coast Amateur in a tie for 12th place, shooting a two-day total of 13-over-par 297 at Eugene (Ore.) Country Club. The CGA team was 18 strokes behind the winner, Pacific Northwest Golf Association.

Wyndham Clark of Greenwood Village led the way with a 7-over 73-76—149. Greg Condon of Monte Vista, playing for Sun Country Amateur Golf Association in New Mexico, finished 23rd at 146. Andrew Putnam of University Place, Wash., won with a 5-under 137.

• The CWGA team is in 11th place after the second of three rounds at the Girls Junior America’s Cup in Rancho Santa Fe, Calif.

Allie Johnston of Castle Rock led the team with a 2-over 74.

• The CGA boys team moved up five spots into a tie for 10th with one round to play at the Junior America’s Cup in Albuquerque. John Ahern of Bear Creek Golf Course is tied for 16th in the individual standings at 1-over 71-72—143, nine shots behind the leader.

Glenn to be studio analyst.

Former Wyoming football coach Joe Glenn will be a studio analyst for the Mountain West Sports Network on The Mtn. this fall.

Glenn will appear on the network for about six games. He was 30-41 with the Cowboys before being fired in 2008.

Former Broncos general manager and Air Force football player Ted Sundquist also will do some football work for the network.

Nilsson hired as DU golf assistant.

University of Denver men’s golf coach Eric Hoos hired Par Nilsson as an assistant coach.

Nilsson, who is native of Sweden, played for Oklahoma State and was on the 2003 team that finished runner-up in the NCAA championship to Clemson, and finished eighth as an individual at the 2002 NCAAs. Nilsson played various professional mini-tours from 2005-09, including the Adams Golf Pro Tour in the U.S., and the Nordic League in Europe.

“Singles Night” now Aug. 5.

The Colorado Springs Sky Sox have rescheduled “Singles Night” for Aug. 5 at Security Service Field. The original date, July 8, was rained out.

All singles attending the 7 p.m. game against the New Orleans Zephyrs will be handed color-coded leis, with green meaning “go” and red leis meaning “no.” The Steve Scheller Jazz Group performs from 6 p.m. to game time, and there will be $2 margarita specials throughout the night. At the start of the fourth inning, speed dating begins in the Hall of Fame Bar and Grill for interested singles.

Leichtle to play hoops at Western Oregon.

Jamee Leichtle, a standout at Kennedy High School, will play basketball for Western Oregon University after transferring from Ottawa (Kan.) University.

Leichtle, a 5-foot-4 point guard, was the second leading scorer in Class 4A in her senior season.
