The Boulder County Sheriff’s Office reports that two roads near Nederland were washed out by heavy rains yesterday afternoon.

County Road 126, four miles northwest of Nederland toward Caribou, was washed out as was County Road 130 to Eldora, which was also washed out and impassable due to flooding and hail.

Boulder County Sheriff’s Office reports some areas had accumulation of hail up to 8 inches. Snowplows had to clear hail from County Road 130 and the Lake Eldora Ski Road.

The National Weather Service said radar estimates 3 to 4 inches of rain fell in about two hours.

Jake Adler, a sergeant with the Nederland Police said that during the storm fire crews were called to at least two businesses after reports of lightning strikes.

One of the businesses was B&F Mountain Market, at 60 Lakeview Drive. The damage is still being assessed.
