They finished 31-11 against the Central in 2009, but Wednesday’s loss dropped them to 9-13 vs. the division. Now for the fine print: They’re 3-0 vs. the Cardinals, 6-13 vs. the other five teams.

Pirates starter Ross Ohlendorf, who left in the first inning after taking a Troy Tulowitzki line drive off his head, returned from Rose Medical Center midway through the game. A CT scan was negative.
