There was plenty of Cubs blue at Coors Field, but it turned out to be a sad Sunday for their fans. The Rockies’ 8-7 victory completed a three-game sweep of Chicago’s North Siders. It was the first sweep of the Cubs at Coors Field since a four-game sweep July 24-27 in 1997.
More than one.
When Dexter Fowler hits at the top of the order, the Rockies are a different team. His fourth consecutive multiple-hit game helped increase Colorado’s winning streak to four. Fowler has 17 multihit games this season, and the Rockies are 14-3 in those contests.
Cubs’ Silva to hospital.
Chicago starter Carlos Silva faced only four batters in the first inning and left because of an abnormal heart rate. He was taken to a hospital and was to stay overnight for observation.
