Here’s a look at Molson Coors Brewing Co.’s results by business unit for the second quarter:
CANADA: Sales to retailers rose 2.2 percent, and the amount of beer sold rose 2.6 percent. Brands gaining volume include new brew Molson M, Coors Light, Keystone and Molson Canadian brands. Brands declining in volume include Molson Export and Molson Dry.
BRITAIN: Volume rose 0.7 percent, an improvement from a drop of 11 percent in the first quarter. Volume was helped by good weather in June and the World Cup. Revenue was hurt by $2 million due to a 3 percent decline in the value of the British pound compared with the U.S. dollar in the quarter.
U.S.: Sales to retailers for the company’s joint venture with SABMiller PLC fell 2.4 percent. The decline of MillerCoors’ volume eased from the first quarter, when the figure fell 4 percent.
INTERNATIONAL: Volume grew more than 24 percent, driven by performance in China, Latin America and Europe.
