Getting your player ready...

New Colorado men’s basketball coach Tad Boyle will get to face his former college teammate, Texas A&M coach Mark Turgeon, in Boulder on Feb. 9 as a highlight of CU’s 2010-2011 schedule released today.

Boyle and Turgeon played in the backcourt together at Kansas under Larry Brown in the 1980s. Boyle later worked for Turgeon at Jacksonville State (Ala.) and Wichita State.

Other highlights of Colorado’s schedule include home games against Oregon State (Dec. 4), Colorado State (Dec. 8) and Texas (Feb. 26), in addition to home dates against all Big 12 North opponents.

The Dec. 8 game against CSU will be part of a double-header also involving the schools’ women’s teams.

Challenging nonconference road games include Georgia, New Mexico and either Indiana or Northern Iowa. The latter two games will be played in the 10th Annual Las Vegas Classic, Dec. 22-23.

With Colorado’s impending move to the Pac-10, this likely will mark CU’s final Big 12 schedule. As perhaps is fitting, the Buffaloes will complete their regular-season schedule against rival Nebraska, March 5 in Boulder.
