Despite winning last weekend’s race in Long Pond, Pa., Biffle remained 11th in the Sprint Cup standings, dangerously close to the 12-driver playoff cut. But make no mistake, he made a huge jump in the playoff picture. With his first triumph since September 2008, Biffle gained 10 potential bonus points for the Chase for Championship, and if the playoffs began this week, he would be seeded sixth, because only six of the top 12 drivers have won a race. The seeding structure will be put into place Sept. 11 after race No. 26 at Richmond, Va. The Chase begins Sept. 19 at Loudon, N.H.
