Authorities say a small plane that crashed and burned near Rollins Pass on Wednesday was carrying three people and flying from Boulder to California. The victims’ names have not been released.
Rollins Pass straddles the border of Gilpin and Boulder counties; the crash occurred on the Gilpin side.
According to the Federal Aviation Administration, the aircraft was a Beech Bonanza 35.
A serial number on the plane indicates the owner of the aircraft is a resident of Sunnyvale, Calif.
