BRIGHTON, colo.—The mother of a child whose mummified remains were found in a suitcase faces up to 32 years in prison after pleading guilty to the death.
Twenty-five-year-old Melinda Hudson is expected to be sentenced in October after pleading guilty Friday to criminally negligent child abuse resulting in death. Prosecutors say a suitcase filled with clothes, towels and paper towels also contained the remains of her baby.
The documents in the case has been sealed.
An Adams County grand jury in July indicted Hudson, of Westminster.
