MONUMENT, Colo.—One man is dead of multiple gunshot wounds and a suspect is in custody following a shooting in the parking lot of a tire store in Monument.
El Paso County Sheriff’s spokeswoman Lari Sevene says the shooting outside the Big O Tire happened about 4:30 p.m. Monday. Sevene says an 18-year-old man is being questioned. It wasn’t clear Monday night what charges might be pursued.
No names have been released.
Sevene says according to witnesses, the teen and an older man, who might be his father, had a flat tire. An argument started with a 50-year-old employee of the tire store and moved out into the parking lot. The employee was shot and killed.
Sevene said teen and the man with him are from western Colorado.
