Firefighters suspect a lightning strike sparked a fire overnight that damaged a Greenwood Village restaurant.

The fire started at about midnight at Saigon Landing, 6585 Greenwood Plaza Blvd., according to a South Metro Fire Protection District media release.

The restaurant was closed at the time of the fire and no one was injured, said Andy Lyon, a fire department spokesman.

Flames were shooting out of the roof when firefighters arrived at the scene. Firefighters contained the fire to the roof and attic. The restaurant’s interior was damaged by water and smoke.

Twenty-five firefighters fought the blaze, which took about 40 minutes to extinguish, Lyon said.
