Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar recently announced the return of the fee-free weekend to America’s national parks Saturday and Sunday.
Entrance fees will be waived at 146 National Park Service sites across the nation this weekend, including Rocky Mountain, Great Sand Dunes and Black Canyon national parks in Colorado.
The fee-free waiver does not include other fees collected in advance or by contractors, such as charges for camping, reservations, tours and use of concessions.
Nor does it guarantee serenity.
