Denver TV news staffs showed quick reflexes and smooth coverage of the 2010 Colorado primary elections Tuesday–with one station lagging noticeably in calling the Democratic U.S. Senate race.

KUSA and sister station KTVD; KDVR and sister station KWGN, and KMGH all delivered fast results and a depth of information with onscreen numbers keeping tabs on the races. Live blogging on the KDVR website was an additional feature.

“This race we thought would be contentious turns out to be the first one off the board,” said Eli Stokols, political reporter for KDVR and KWGN, in calling the Democratic Senate race for Michael Bennet.

Only KCNC lagged in calling that race, eventually running a scroll at the bottom of the screen.
