Rocky Mountain Folks Festival is celebrating its 20th year today through Sunday at Planet Bluegrass Ranch in Lyons, featuring folk, rock, roots and indie stars John Prine, Ani DiFranco, the Swell Season, Richard Thompson, Michelle Shocked, Jenny Lewis and many more. Le Divorce will release its new EP at the Larimer Lounge on Saturday with Mike Marchant’s Outer-Space Party Unit and the Outfit ($4-$8, ), while another worthy local act, St. Elias, will drop its new CD at the Hi-Dive today with Accordion Crimes, Ideal Fathers and Alan Alda ($6, ).
Rush has never gone out of style, at least to its fans, but the legendary prog-rock trio got a boost playing the object of obsession in the 2009 bro-comedy “I Love You, Man.” The band performs Monday (sold out) and Wednesday ($85.50, Ticketmaster) as part of its “Time Machine” tour at Red Rocks.
