Firefighters have stomped out an early morning fire at a vacant townhome in Aurora.

The fire started at about 5:10 a.m. at 366 S. Memphis St., said Capt. Allen Robnett, an Aurora Fire Department spokesman.

The fire appears to have started on a back deck of the townhome, Robnett said. Flames raced up the exterior siding and into the attic of the unit.

Firefighters contained the fire to the one unit and no one was injured, Robnett said.

Damage is estimated at $100,000.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
