MORRISON, Colo.—Tiny Town is back open but its train won’t start running until next week.

The children’s amusement park in the foothills west of Denver reopened Friday, two days after its small train derailed.

Fifteen people were injured. Most received bumps and bruises, but three were hospitalized. One woman remained in Swedish Hospital Friday in fair condition.

State investigators say the engineer noticed the train was going too fast on a turn and then accelerated rather than braking.

Labor department spokeswoman Cher Haavind said investigators and the train’s manufacturer are still looking at whether any mechanical problems may have contributed to the derailment.

The investigation is expected to wrap up early next week.
