DENVER—A sale of oil and gas leases on federal land in Colorado has raised $2 million.
The U.S. Bureau of Land Management sold leases on 14 parcels totaling 9,769 acres in its quarterly auction Thursday in Denver. The highest per-acre price was for a 157-acre parcel in Mesa County. Axia Energy of Denver paid $1,090 per acre for the site.
Forty-nine percent of the auction’s proceeds will go to the state of Colorado.
