Rapids midfielder Colin Clark will miss the rest of the season after tearing the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee during a game Saturday against San Jose.

DU ski champs to get White House visit.
Winning the NCAA championship earned the University of Denver men’s and women’s ski teams an invitation to the White House. President Barack Obama’s staff announced Friday that Obama will host about 30 NCAA championship teams in a ceremony Sept. 13.
Rams release men’s basketball schedule.
Colorado State finalized its men’s basketball schedule, which has the Rams opening with five of their first eight games at Moby Arena, including a Dec. 20 date with Northern Colorado. The other nonconference games vs. in-state rivals are on the road, Nov. 18 at Denver and Dec. 8 at Colorado. The Rams travel to Kansas City to play Kansas on Dec. 11.
The Mountain West schedule begins with a renewal of the Border War on Jan. 4 with Wyoming visiting the Rams.

Former University of Denver golfer Stephanie Sherlock defeated Junthima Gulyanamitta of West Lafayette, Ind., 2 and 1 in the quarterfinals of the U.S. Women’s Amateur at Charlotte (N.C.) Country Club.
