BOULDER — Boulder County officials are shrugging off a pitch by an animal-rights group to pay for road work in exchange for advertisements featuring the silhouette of a curvaceous woman encouraging people to become vegans.

County transportation director George Gerstle said he doesn’t believe People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals is serious about the proposal.
