COLORADO SPRINGS — A motorist led police on a short pursuit Friday before losing a tire and fleeing on foot. After he was arrested, he told police his toddler was in the car.
Matthew Decker, 24, allegedly struck his girlfriend in the parking lot of the Worker’s Lounge, 2627 Delta Drive, about 5:30 p.m. and left her and their infant in the parking lot.
Decker took off as officers approached, police said.
During a car chase, he led cops through a dirt lot near Academy Boulevard and Drennan Road, where his car lost a tire and he tried to flee on foot. Decker was arrested on multiple domestic-violence charges.
His daughter, believed to be younger than 2, was discovered in the car’s back seat. She was unharmed.
