Employment continues to decline at passenger airlines, dropping 2.4 percent in June compared with June 2009. It was the 24th consecutive monthly decrease in full- time-equivalent employees.
Among the six major airlines, FTEs were down 1.6 percent from the same period last year, with United — Denver’s largest airline — losing 3.6 percent.
Low-cost airlines’ employment was up 0.9 percent, with Frontier — Denver’s second- largest airline — increasing 10.1 percent and third-largest Southwest dropping 1.9 percent.
