A judge this morning set a Sept. 8 preliminary hearing for a 19-year-old day-care aide charged with sexual abuse of three preschoolers.
Benjamin Janicki, a summer hire at Park Hill United Methodist Children’s Center, was arrested last week. His case prompted the state Department of Human Services to close the center while it investigates.
Janicki is charged with sex assault on a child by someone in a position of trust and sex assault on a child. He waived his right to hear the charges formally read today. He is being held in the Denver detention center on $650,000 bail.
