CHEYENNE — Wyoming’s former U.S. attorney Matt Mead beat state Auditor Rita Meyer by about 700 votes for the GOP’s gubernatorial nomination in Tuesday’s primary. Mead now faces Leslie Petersen, the state Democratic Party chairwoman, in the general election to replace Democratic Gov. Dave Freudenthal, who is term- limited.
