Getting your player ready...
While men’s golf waits to see whether Phil Mickelson, Lee Westwood or anyone else will dethrone Tiger Woods as the world’s No. 1 player, the LPGA has seen more movement than an episode of “Glee” at the top of its rankings. Entering this week’s Safeway Classic in North Plains, Ore., near Portland, Kerr is at the top of the list. Kerr, the 2008 Safeway Classic champion, has already spent some time at No. 1 this season — as has Ai Miyazato, Jiyai Shin and even Lorena Ochoa, who retired from the game this season. Kerr and Paula Creamer (seventh) are the only American players in the top 10 in the world rankings.
