A brazen man startled a Colorado Springs woman early this morning, entering her home, demanding “pills” and fleeing with the victim’s purse, police said.

The robbery happened about 12:45 a.m. Wednesday in the 4400 block of Ramblewood Drive, according to the Colorado Springs Police Department crime blotter.

The woman’s two children were home at the time of the incident; no one was physically injured.

The armed robber got into the home through the open front door. The screen door was closed but unlocked. The victim was watching television in her living room when the man appeared.

Police said the man asked: “Where are your pills?”

The armed robber – police did not disclose what type of weapon was used – grabbed the woman’s purse from a living room table and fled.

Police describe the suspect as a white man, about 20, with a thin brown moustache and about 5-feet 10-inches tall. He was wearing dark clothing and a black beanie cap.

After the robbery the victim had a panic attack and was treated on scene for shortness of breath, police said. The purse the robber snatched contained various personal items including prescription medications.
