RTD’s longtime Stapleton park-n-Ride and bus transfer center on Martin Luther King Boulevard in Denver will close Sunday, and the transit agency will simultaneously open a new, 1,400-space interim parking lot nearby at East 36th Avenue and Ulster Street.
Forest City Stapleton Inc., which is developing the area, will demolish the old Stapleton International Airport parking garage and develop housing on the site.
The Regional Transportation District later will move its Stapleton parking to a permanent park-n-Ride near 36th and Ulster once the Central Park station on the East Corridor train line to DIA is built.
