We’ve been hearing about a three-day mini-festival at the Weather Center (the warehouse space at 1401 Zuni St. formerly known as the Tarshack) for a couple weeks, and now things are looking official.

Organizers are calling the Oct. 21-23 event the Gathering of the Clouds, and the showcase will feature three CD releases from Denver groups , and . Gathering of the Clouds will also feature the debut of a new band that will feature Anna Mascorella, Martina Grbac and Ross Harada, formerly of the Denver-based Sympathy For the Record Industry band .

“We wanted to have a big party at the house and have it be special and memorable – not just another show at a bar,” said Erin Tidwell, one of the organizers and the drummer for the Overcasters. “It’s cool because
we’re releasing our album, and Gangcharger is releasing their record — and Buckingham Squares are also releasing an album that weekend. It’s like a mini-festival.”

Also playing that weekend: , , DJ KLF (of fame), , Tyler Jacobson, , and others. Local sound engineer Xandy Whitesel will be manning the boards, and Tidwell, who lives at the Weather Center with her boyfriend and bandmate Kurt Ottaway, said they will be asking for a $5 donation per day – or $15 for all three days.
