“Junior” is 17th in the Sprint Cup standings and on pace to miss the Chase for the Championship cut for the third consecutive year. But watch out for him at this weekend’s race at Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway. In the past 11 Cup races at the high-banked oval, Junior has the best average finish of 8.4 and is the only driver under 10. He will need to end a two-season winless drought this weekend to have a chance to make the 12-driver playoff cut. He is 129 points behind the cut with just three regular-season races remaining.
