DENVER—American Constitution Party gubernatorial candidate Tom Tancredo says he plans to choose a new running mate by the end of the month.
Tancredo says that was part of the deal when he switched from the Republican Party to run as the American Constitution Party candidate.
His current running mate is Doug Campbell, who was chosen by former candidate Benjamin Goss before Tancredo was chosen to fill the position by a vacancy committee.
Campbell didn’t return a phone call seeking reaction on Thursday.
Tancredo has until Tuesday for the party to convene a vacancy committee to replace Campbell.
Tancredo switched parties after GOP candidates Scott McInnis and Dan Maes refused to step down over character issues.
