FORT COLLINS, Colo.—A shootout at a Fort Collins home earlier this summer led police to a suspected illegal marijuana growing operation.

Police were called to the home in late June when neighbors reported gunfire. No one was hurt in what police called a home-invasion robbery, but police at the rented home found evidence of a large-scale illegal marijuana grow. Authorities seized 2 pounds of packaged marijuana, several firearms and recently cut marijuana plants.

Twenty-nine-year-old Jordan Thomas Fiore and 28-year-old Michael Scott Williams turned themselves in Tuesday and are free on bond. Police say the pair said they came to the city specifically to raise marijuana, with some to be sold out of state.

They both have state medical marijuana cards.
