Haven Moses will add his personal experience to the Haven Moses Stroke Prevention seminar Friday at the Holly Creek Retirement Community, 5500 E. Peakview Ave. in Centennial.
The former Broncos star’s program is free of charge and open to the public.
Moses, who teamed with quarterback Craig Morton in the M&M connection that helped the Broncos advance to the Super Bowl as AFC champions in the 1977 season, suffered a stroke after his NFL career.
Stroke is the third leading cause of death in America and the seminar will focus on recognizing symptoms and prevention.
The program begins at 1:30 p.m., with the seminar starting at 2 p.m. Information is available by calling 303-713-9004.
Boulder cyclist Hillclimb champion.
Nico Toutenhoofd of Boulder won the 38th annual Mount Washington Auto Road Bicycle Hillclimb in New Hampshire on Saturday.
Toutenhoofd finished the 7.6-mile uphill ride in 57 minutes, 26 seconds — 42 seconds ahead of runner-up Tinker Juarez of Whittier, Calif., a former U.S. mountain bike champion.
Peter Salon of Boulder finished 10th.
“I really wanted to win,” said Toutenhoofd, the 2008 runner-up and a fourth-place finisher last year. “Of course, how well you place depends on who else shows up. But this year I was better rested. Also, this time I rode with a power meter.”
Toutenhoofd, 42, said the meter on his bike makes it easier for him to keep his physical effort steady.
“My goal was to get from the bottom to the top as fast as possible and ignore everyone else,” he said.
