LARIMER COUNTY — Fire crews from across northern Colorado put out a 400-acre grass fire on private property in northern Larimer County on Sunday afternoon, the county emergency-services office said.

No evacuations were ordered in the sparsely populated area north of Livermore and south of the Wyoming state line near U.S. 287 and Red Mountain Road.

The Larimer County Sheriff’s Office noted, “400 acres in grass is a lot better than the same acreage in timber.”

The cause of the blaze is under investigation. It was reported shortly before noon.
