Susan G. Komen 3-Day Race for the Cure

Friday-Sunday: Participants walk 60 miles over three days. Proceeds are used for research and community programs supporting education, screening and treatment of breast cancer. Opening ceremony is 6:30 a.m. Friday at the Colorado Mills Mall, 14500 W. Colfax Ave. in Lakewood. Hike for Uganda

Saturday: Educate!, a Uganda and Boulder-based organization, hosts its second annual Hike for Uganda to raise awareness and funding for the 830 students in the program in Uganda. Educate! friends will hike up Green Mountain in Boulder while Educate! students hike up a mountain in Kampala, Uganda, at the same time. Face painting, handmade jewelry and artwork from Uganda, and live music will be offered. Registration and activities begin at 8:30 a.m. followed by the hike at 9:30. Venus de Miles Cycling

Sunday: Women of all ages and abilities are invited to participate in the third annual bike ride and festival in Boulder County. Riders can choose from three courses: 33, 51 or 67 miles. Proceeds benefit Greenhouse Scholars, a nonprofit organization that supports high-performing, under-resourced students. A festival in Prospect Park in Longmont follows the ride and offers food, live music, cocktails and beer, spa services and more. Visit for more information and to register.

Walk to Cure Psoriasis

Sunday: The National Psoriasis Foundation hosts its annual walk to raise awareness and funds for research, education and advocacy programs. Sept. 2: Twisted Pine Brewing Co. presents this tournament featuring teams of two competing for the coveted Twisted Trophy and other prizes including best-dressed (funny golf attire) and holes-in-one in this benefit for the Colorado Therapeutic Riding Center.
