A 31 year-old man is dead and another man faces a first degree murder charge after a fight erupted at a bar early today, Broomfield police said.
The trouble began at the Night Owl Lounge, at 2000 West Midway Blvd., at about 1:48 a.m., said Sgt. Scott Swenson.
Police who responded to a report of a stabbing found the victim, who hasn’t been identified, about one block from the bar. He had been stabbed in the chest and died later.
Officers arrested an Arvada man, Matt Joe Weber, 30, in the killing. He is being held at the Broomfield Detention Center without bond.
Weber’s record includes arrests for driving under the influence and vehicular eluding, according to the Colorado Bureau of Investigation.
Police aren’t releasing the victim’s name pending notification of next of kin.
