Two men accused of defrauding more than 700 businesses in Colorado and other states have agreed to pay a total of $2 million in fines and restitution to the state of Colorado.
The men, Tyrone E. Tymkovich, 33, of Aurora and Sam Levine, 43, of Castle Rock, agreed to pay $1 million each under a settlement announced by Colorado Attorney General John Suthers.
Authorities alleged that Tymkovich and Levine told businesses that buyers wanted to purchase their companies, then charged inflated fees for appraisals of businesses.
