CUPERTINO, Calif. — Apple, widely expected to announce a revamped product for television sets next month, is pressing television networks to rent their series through its iTunes service for as little as 99 cents an episode. News Corp., parent of the Fox network, and Walt Disney Co., parent of ABC, are close to deals for iTunes rentals at 99 cents each, according to network executives with knowledge of the discussions who spoke Tuesday on the condition of anonymity. But the executives emphasized that there were still sticking points in the negotiations.
