Getting your player ready...

After taking Monday off, the Broncos were scheduled to practice today with several big-name injured players set to return to the field.

Running back Correll Buckhalter, cornerback Champ Bailey, offensive lineman Chris Kuper, wide receiver Demaryius Thomas and linebacker D.J. Williams were all set to rejoin their teammates in regular drills, coach Josh McDaniels said before practice began.

McDaniels added that running back LenDale White and offensive lineman Ryan Clady would return to practice Wednesday.

“Feels good to get a few more of those guys out there and actually start practicing together a little bit and getting ready for the year,” McDaniels said.

Buckhalter, who sustained a back injury Aug. 1, amassed 642 yards (5.4 average) last season in his first year with the Broncos. He played in 14 games, starting seven.

“In this league you’re never 100 percent,” Buckhalter said after a pre-practice walk-thru. “I’m going to work my way back in and go from there. Every day now counts, so I got to kind of ease into it and get my body back into that football shape.”
